Do you have the strategic vision, leadership and delivery expertise to position the North East as a prime destination for global investment? The North East Mayoral Combined Authority is looking for an exceptional leader to drive our inward investment strategy—attracting high-value, job-creating opportunities that align with regional priorities and deliver inclusive economic growth.
As Head of Inward Investment, you’ll lead the delivery of our investment strategy, working closely with senior stakeholders across government and business. You’ll represent the region nationally and internationally, develop compelling investment propositions, and oversee projects from initial inquiry to completion.
We’re looking for someone who can lead with purpose and deliver with discipline—bringing strong leadership, a deep understanding of public-private collaboration, and the ability to manage across complex organisational structures. You’ll need a track record of delivering investment strategies that make a tangible difference to regional economies.
In this role, you will lead the development and delivery of inward investment strategies, oversee sector-specific and place-based initiatives, and manage investment projects from inquiry to completion. You’ll collaborate with stakeholders to build compelling investment cases, represent the region at trade missions, and provide strategic advice across the Authority. You’ll also champion inclusive growth, foster a high-performance team culture, and ensure resources are managed effectively to deliver value for money.
This is a high-impact leadership role at the heart of the region’s economic future. If you’re ready to shape the North East’s investment story and deliver real results for our communities, we’d love to hear from you.
We are proud to be an inclusive employer and we welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, communities and experiences. We particularly encourage applications from candidates who are underrepresented in senior roles, including women, disabled people, LGBTQ+ people and those from Black, Asian and minority ethnic backgrounds.
Join us to shape a fairer, healthier and more inclusive North East.
