The North East Combined Authority is looking to appoint two proactive and experienced Senior Lawyers who will play key roles in the provision of high-quality legal services to the Combined Authority.
Senior Lawyer (Commercial)
In this role, you will act as a senior advisor for the Combined Authority in respect of:
- contracts and general commercial matters (including grant funding agreements); and
commissioning and procurement. - substantial post-qualification experience in these areas is essential. Experience of advising on company/joint venture structures and subsidy control issues is also desirable.
Senior Lawyer (Transport and Development)
In this role, you will act as a senior advisor for the Combined Authority in respect of:
- major transport projects (such as bus reform); and
- planning/regeneration initiatives (such as the Spatial Development Strategy and the potential creation of mayoral development zones).
Substantial post-qualification experience in planning matters is essential. Experience of advising on transport and/or regeneration projects is also desirable.
About you:
As well as the relevant experience outlined above for each post, you will have the following experience, knowledge, skills and qualities:
- proven track record of advising senior clients on major projects or initiatives;
- detailed knowledge of local-authority decision-making processes; and
- ability to work on own initiative, manage a complex and varied caseload and to work in other legal areas if required.
